Arts Council England
Arts Council England is the biggest supporter and funder of the arts in England. Aakash Odedra and company have been fortunate to receive funding from Arts Council England to support development work, and crucially the creation and touring for Rising and subsequently Inked and Murmur.
Aakash Odedra Company is an associate Company of Curve Theatre, Leicester. Curve is the premier regional venue for performing arts. As well as a producing house, it receives work from the UK and internationally. With state of the art facilities, it is one of the best theatre’s in the world.
Aakash Odedra is an associate Artist of DanceXchange, Birmingham. DanceXchange is a National Dance Agency with offices in Birmingham City Centre. DanceXchange co-produces International Dance Festival Birimingham, and has a remit for developing dance and dance artists. Aakash has a home and grew up in Birmingham, and DanceXchange is a natural partner for Aakash to maintain strong roots in Birmingham. DanceXchange presented the World Premieres of Rising and Murmur & Inked.
Maison de la Musique Nanterre
Aakash Odedra Company recently became an Associate Company of Maison de la Musique in Nanterre, Paris. Nestled in the suburbs of Paris in a diverse community, the theatre has an excellent reputation for developing art and working to raise aspirations in its neighbourhood.
Sky Academy is the premiere Arts broadcasting specialist in the UK. Aakash won a Sky Arts Academy Scholarship in 2013 and further mentoring and development opportunities. Their support was instrumental in developing Murmur.
